I am pleased to announce that I submitted my AP Research paper just 2 days ago! These past few months, I have spent time editing my essay in order to fulfill the rubric requirements and also correcting diction (cutting the fat as well). Tomorrow morning, I am going to present my oral defense for a mock practice, with the real thing following the day after. I cannot wait to finally get this AP Research project over with (in a good way)- a year’s worth of planning and work all culminating into 27 pages and 20 minutes. For me, It has been a wild two-and-a-half months full of minimum wage work, last minute deadline freak-outs, extensive travelling, and stressing over life decisions. Thus, I congratulate everyone on their completion of their AP Research projects and their perseverance through these tough, but uniquely exciting, times.
I can’t believe that we are nearing the end of the AP Research period. Currently, I am working through the “final” draft of my paper, correcting issues pointed out during the peer review sessions, and I will have it finished before the group meeting during 4th period on Monday (and probably getting an additional peer review in prior). It is pretty nerve-racking knowing that the due date for the final paper is in a week, but I know that the project can pull through given the time left. These last few days will be tough, but I think that they will be integral in helping me comprehend the final direction of my paper and to prepare for the presentation later on.
See you all on Monday,
Last week I said that I was done with my rough draft… but now I have to do lots of editing (*tears). Between now and the last time, I have conferenced with Susan and Dr. Rosinbum on Tuesday, which kind of shattered my confidence in my paper. Mostly, it is because the peer-editing process revealed many problems in my paper’s overall structure. In the next few days, I hope to spend LOTS of time editing and revising my intro, making a smoother transition between the products of TV Dinners and Meal Delivery Kits and the concepts of Work-to-Family conflict and the family dinner. Nevertheless, it is all easier said than done, but hopefully, this blog will be a good way to keep me accountable. By the next update (which will be made this coming Wednesday), I hope to have a new “rough” draft with improved structure and a more detailed advertisement analysis.
(See what I did there)
I forgot to update this last Wednesday (I know, I know…), but as of today, I am finished with the rough draft of my paper. I am meeting with Dr. Rosinbum and Susan tomorrow to discuss the peer review of her paper and the progress on my paper. I can’t believe its March 20th already and that not only the AP Research due date, but also all the college decisions, are bound to arrive in less than a half month. In the future, I might get more people to peer review as I brace for the weeks to come, but at least I am relieved that the content aspect of my paper is finished. Now the editing though….
